Loose cable kits

Loose Cable kits are normally used for projects in small bathrooms or kitchens with awkward fixed objects to space around such as quadrant shower trays, floor mounted toilets, kitchen units and island units.
The cable is supplied as one long roll of heating wire on a drum or drums dependnig on the size of your area, the 3mm loose cable is then spaced out evenly over the whole floor to suit the shape required, this offers freedom to space the cable evenly in awkward room shapes, the spacing of the cables determines the heat output, the guide below depends on many factors including insulation and floor coverage

6cm between cable loops = 165w/m2. Conservatories and areas of high heat loss
6.5cm between cable loops = 150w/m2. Suitable as a heat source in most areas
7.5cm between cable loops = 130w/m2 Tile warming and secondary heating

Our loose cable system is suitable for many different types of floor covering including Tiles, Carpet and Vinyl floors, when installing this system for carpet and vinyl floors it is neccesary to cover the cables with a layer of latex levelling compound, we always advise checking compatibility with the floor covering manufacturer before installation commences.

Our underfloor Heating cables are 3mm in diameter, twin wire and earth screened, making them fully 17th edition compliant when installed to our guidelines, the loose cable system is rated at 10w per m2

Our underfloor heating Kits are supplied with a 230V teflon coated heating cable, The Aube TH132-F programmable digital thermostat as standard, we are currently offering a free upgrade to the TR3100 remote control thermostat, this has the option to switch between Floor/Air/Floor+Air, complete with floor temperature probe, conduit housing, floor primers and applicator. All our cable systems use the twin wire earth screened system which means they are suitable for use in bathrooms

When any underfloor heating system is installed, the heat energy can travel in both directions, down as well as up. Cement floors can act as a large heat sink absorbing energy from your heating system into the floor, we always reccomend using our insulations boards directly beneath our heating systems, this will significantly improve the output of your floor heating system and save you money on slow warm up times
